When we moved into our home, there were many overgrown trees and bushes. In some places the ground was hard and dry and wouldn’t grow grass. The previous owners had lived here for 15 years without ever raking or picking up a single branch. While this made cleaning up and turning the yard into a place where the kids could play difficult, we noticed it also left us with huge worms and dark black soil in the areas where the trees and bushes were located, just under the mountains of fallen leaves.
